Automated Transit Network Demonstration Project
REQUEST FOR INTEREST (RFI)
The City of San José seeks information from companies/organizations interested
in partnering with the City to demonstrate and test the viability of an
automated transit network. In response to regional population and traffic
growth and climate change, the city wishes to improve linkages between
public transit and areas of housing, employment and entertainment and to
do so in an environmentally sustainable manner.
The proposed initial network would connect the Norman Y. Mineta San José
International Airport and adjoining business, recreational facilities and
regional transit services, including the planned Santa Clara BART station
about a mile to the west.

Oregon International Port of Coos Bay
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Interim Segment Service Operator Eugene — Vaughn, OR
The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay (Port) is seeking to contract with a qualified,
shortline, railroad operator to serve a portion of the Coos Bay Line between Eugene and
Coquille, Oregon (the “Interim Segment”). The Port anticipates acquiring and operating
the entire line once rehabilitation of the portion west of Vaughn is complete. The Port
expects the selected operator to provide railroad freight service to shippers on the east
end of the line while the rest of the line is being restored to a condition supporting operations
to and beyond the Port of Coos Bay. The end points of the Interim Segment are
Eugene Yard (MP 649.7) and Vaughn, OR (MP 669).
The Port will consider, at a minimum, the following in evaluating proposals:
Shortline operating experience, including safety record;
Bidder’s organizational depth and financial strength;
Acceptance of terms (or constructive counter proposals) and
Cost proposals.
