The New Boston, Tex.-based TexAmericas Center is now part of Union Pacific’s (UP) Focus Site program, which includes more than 30 “shovel-ready” industrial development sites that range from 125 to more than 6,500 developable acres and whose rail designs have been pre-approved.

Located on the Texas side of the Texarkana metropolitan area, TexAmericas Center offers roughly 12,000 acres of land and approximately 3.5 million square feet of office, manufacturing, warehouse and storage space, as well as access not only to rail but also to interstate transportation (see map below). TexAmericas Center, which serves Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, is described as “well-positioned to serve as a central hub for rail-dependent manufacturing businesses, freight handling and logistics services.”

Additionally, it offers 3PL (third-party logistics) services to assist companies with inventory management, warehousing, and fulfillment needs.

At TexAmericas Center, the Central Campus includes 100 acres that are rail-served and certified as shovel-ready, and the East Campus includes 8,900 acres that are rail-served, as well as 38 miles of track. Transloading, storage and spotting services are available.

According to TexAmericas Center, UP, Canadian Pacific Kansas City, Genesee & Wyoming subsidiary Texas Northeastern (TNER), and TexAmericas Center Rail (TACR) provide service. UP connects to the adjacent Red River Army Depot facility, from the south, as well as the TexAmericas Center East Campus. The rail line to the north of TexAmericas Center’s Central and East campus’s is operated by TNER, which interchanges with the East Campus at the Hooks Junction and the Central Campus at the Red River Defense Junction.

The UP Focus Site “designation comes with key benefits including rail design approved by Union Pacific, a large-scale development area, accessible industrial scale utilities, truck routes to the site, robust local development support, and a single point-of-contact that is also the authority having jurisdiction and the controlling land owner,” said Eric Voyles, Chief Economic Development Officer and Vice President at TexAmericas Center.

“Union Pacific is excited about our partnership with TexAmericas Center and the opportunity to serve one of the largest rural industrial centers in the nation,” said Kenny Rocker, UP Executive Vice President–Marketing and Sales. “This facility is good for our customers and the greater Texarkana region, providing us opportunities to grow together.”

In a related development, Utah Inland Port Authority’s industrial park in Cedar City recently earned UP Focus Site program designation.
