MBTA RFP# 80F-24 Green Line Train Protection System

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority – MBTA released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Green Line Train Protection System (GLTPS), a safety system designed specifically for the Green Line.

The primary functions of the GLTPS include:

  • Preventing trains from passing red signals or other stop signals.
  • Enforcing speed limits for Green Line vehicles.
  • Preventing train-to-train collisions on tracks used for passenger service.
  • Preventing incursions into roadway work zones.
