CSX TDSI Automotive Facilities Achieve ‘Record-Setting’ Wins in Quality Excellence Awards

CSX on June 5 announced that its Total Distribution Services Inc. (TDSI) unloading facilities in Nashville, Tenn., and Palm Center, Fla., have both won the 2024 Destination Automotive Quality Excellence Award from the Association of American Railroads (AAR). Each facility earned a score of 99.98%, “showcasing their exceptional performance and commitment to quality,” according to the Class I.
The awards were accepted at the Damage Prevention and Freight Claim Conference held in Minneapolis, Minn., during the first week of June.
This recognition, CSX says, is particularly noteworthy as it marks only the second time that a railroad has won the award for multiple terminals in a single year. The only other instance was in 2022 when two facilities owned by CSX subsidiary TDSI—Palm Center terminal in Jupiter, Fla., and East Brookfield auto ramp in Massachusetts—shared the recognition.
Adding to this historic achievement, the TDSI Palm Center facility has now been recognized for having the highest quality review score for the third consecutive audit, setting an industry first. “This consistent excellence underscores TDSI’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in automotive quality and operational efficiency,” CSX stated in a release.
The Destination Automotive Quality Excellence Awards recognize outstanding performance in handling and unloading automobiles. The awards highlight facilities that “excel in minimizing damage and ensuring the highest quality in automotive transport.”
“Winning these awards reflects CSX’s steadfast commitment to quality and customer satisfaction,” said TDSI General Manager Bryce Thomas. “Our teams at the Nashville and Palm Center facilities have demonstrated remarkable dedication to achieving and maintaining high standards, which directly benefits our customers and supports the overall reliability of our services.”
The CSX TDSI team says it “looks forward to continuing its tradition of excellence and setting new benchmarks in the industry.”
