NJT RiverLINE resumes regular service
Written by Douglas John BowenNew Jersey Transit Monday said its RiverLINE passenger rail service has resumed regular service, more than 10 months after Hurricane Irene savaged large swaths of the Northeast.
A brief release on NJ Transit’s website stated, “All necessary repairs as a result of the hurricane damage have been completed. We sincerely thank you for your patience.”
The 34-mile RiverLINE offers diesel light rail transitway (DLRT) service linking Camden, N.J. (and PATCO service) with Trenton Station on the Northeast Corridor. Track damage late last August, including severance of a passing siding south of Bordentown, N.J., resulted in more single-track running on the line, limiting service frequency.
