TNW, Easy Recycling Announce Integrated Rail Services at TXNW Railway

TNW Corporation, TrinityRail Expand Rail Offerings in Texas Panhandle

TNW Corporation, a privately held operator of short line railroads and logistics centers, announced May 23 that it has formed a strategic alliance with TrinityRail to expand rail offerings at its Texas North Western Railway (TXNW) line in Sunray, Texas.

TTX has begun installing Nexxiot GPS devices on its new-build TBOX high-capacity boxcar fleet. The company expects as many as 1,700 boxcars to be equipped in 2023, and will also be equipping several hundred multi-level autoracks (pictured).

RDC Joins RailPulse Coalition

RailPulse has an eighth member: Pittsburgh, Penn.-based railway investment and management company Railroad Development Corporation (RDC), which on Oct. 19 joined the coalition established in late 2020 to “develop, broaden and accelerate the use of GPS and other telematics technologies in North America’s freight rail industry.”

Union Pacific on June 7 joined the RailPulse coalition, which was formed in late 2020 to “develop, broaden and accelerate the use of GPS and other telematics technologies in North America’s freight rail industry.”

RailPulse Outlines Three-Phase Pilot

RailPulse is developing a cloud-based telematics platform in an aim “to accelerate the adoption of GPS and other technologies across the North American railcar network.” Late last month, it outlined a three-phase approach to development, which is slated to be complete in second-quarter 2023.

Trinity Lands $1.8B Multi-Year Railcar Order

Trinity Industries on Oct. 3 reported that it will supply a mix of 15,000 newly built tank and freight railcars to GATX through 2028, with GATX having an option to order up to 500 more railcars per year from 2023 to 2028.
